Monthly Archives: December 2005

Dear Friends,

The Fund Collection mechanism is now in place.

Please note that the NGO SCOPE has applied for the “80G income tax exemption” that exempts 50% of the donations from taxability. Results are awaited. Therefore, your contributions cannot benefit from tax reductions at the moment. All ideas welcome.

Here’s your chance to do one more good deed before the end of the year! Please send us your checks for this post-Tsunami Reconstruction project.

There are two steps to be followed:

I wish to correct a statement made in the last newsletter. I mentioned that 2000 Euros had been sent to both the Indian NGO and the French NGO active in the project (i.e. we are releasing 4000 Euros of donor’s contributions in all). This needs to be corrected. The above mentioned sum has been sent to the Indian NGO, which has started working on the initiative in the village of Kameshwaram in the Nagapattinam district. However, we are awaiting bank details and the first year program from the French NGO to launch the program in the villages of PMC and CMC near Pondicherry.

With many thanks and Best Wishes for you and your families for the coming year!!!!
Shyama V. Ramani.
