Meet our Intern: Akshita Kapoor

Hello! My name is Akshita Kapoor, I am a 20 year old undergraduate student pursuing Btech in computer science and engineering from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun Uttarakhand.

 

I am from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, which is famous for its traditional and cultural values. I belong to a big joint family by God’s grace and one thing which I believe is that living with a large number of people certainly acts as a miniature model for society. So many different people give us the required exposure to lay down the foundation for better communication and fill our surroundings with diversity through which we learn to understand others better. By gaining valuable experience through this I always try to communicate in the best way possible to keep my surroundings pleasant. I would like to mention that with so many people around I learned the skill to listen before speaking which I feel is a blessing for me to learn. I am able to discern vibes from different people. Also, I enjoy communicating with people on different topics and ideas.

 

I love spending time with my family and friends, and I always try to learn something new every day from everyone. I believe in making memories so that I can recall them someday by looking over photographs and videos. Basically, I am quite emotional about my relations with everyone. For the past one and a half years, I have been studying online. I am trying to make the best out of myself being at home, although I do wish to see my college down the road. Yes, online studies were going on effectively but still, I guess offline would be a different life altogether. But being optimistic I have noticed that my life has been shaped a bit towards better. I have tried a lot of new things, and many new things have now become my hobbies. During these times I enjoyed cooking the most because I love experimenting with taste. One thing which I got to know about myself and which acted as an energizing activity for me is that I love singing and listening to songs which are my favorite activities now. Whenever I listen to songs I can feel the lyrics and I guess this will stay with me forever because I feel it’s a part of my soul. I have always loved exploring new places and cities as well as I have been to many places earlier and I think that in future I will get a chance to explore more.

 

I am trying to learn new skills a lot through my college and by attending events. Learning about cyber security and its tools is among one the skills which I want to work on in my second year of college. First-year was online, but yes online studies have helped me to be self-dependent, because there is no face-to-face interaction with teachers and batch mates, so I have to get out of my minor difficulties on my own. Being at home I have learned a lot of new things through various projects along with which my coding skills have also got better. Using this free time, I am trying to learn a foreign language and a course like a web development.

Despite all this, I dream to learn and work a lot more. Although I have planned to move abroad and settle there, I also aspire to become a person of value rather than knowledge. I have dreamt of myself giving speeches in front of an audience. Yet the path to reach this position is still undiscovered, but I believe that few things will ultimately happen if I work upon it and be proficient enough to achieve that position.

So I guess this internship would be one step closer to my dreams as it will help me in improving my communication skills, gaining confidence, etc. Which would give me some direction. Looking for learning more in the internship ahead.
